Hang Son Dung-the largest Cave in the world located in Vietnam

Caves were the only safe haven for primitive people in the early days of civilization. Primitive people started living in caves by killing wild animals. This is how they became cave humans. Even today there are many small and big caves scattered in different parts of the world. Some of these are open in nature and some are closed. One of these caves is very ancient. Not only that, in many cases these caves are naturally terrifying. Today we will discuss one such terrifying cave, which is now known as the largest cave in the world. Not only that, there is an another world in this cave. The name is 'Hang Son Dung'. It is located near the Laos-Vietnam border. The word "Hang Son Dung" is in Vietnamese. It means "mountain river cave".

However, it would be wrong to call "Hang Son Dung" only a mountain river cave. Because, inside this cave there are forests, small hills, mountain rivers, clouds, fog etc. It can be said that there is a different world inside the cave. The reflection of sunlight on the river water in the cave is the most interesting view of this cave.

The greenery with clear turbulent water and rocky walls seems to be an unearthly scene. Also the limestone bars hanging from the roof of the cave seem to have multiplied the beauty of the cave. Sometimes there are deep trenches. Water often freezes there. There are also small fountains inside the cave.

At 3,700,000 cubic meters, it is the largest cave in the world. It is more than 5 kilo meters in length. About 200 meters in height and about 150 meters in width. About 2 to 5 million years ago, the cave was formed by the erosion of the bottom of the hill by the flow of river water. This cave has taken its present form due to the change of landform at different times. Most of the rocky walls inside the cave are limestone. The cave was created by the erosion of this limestone.

The largest cave in the world has a lot of life. There are common snakes, frogs, octopuses. Rare animals like flying fox and white chameleon are also found here. There are also several arthropods and birds here. Most of the arthropods are native to the region.

This cave is a place that is tempting for people who are currently traveling all over the world. But not long ago no one knew about this place. Even the cave was discovered in 1991.

One day a local person named Ho Khan heard a sound of the sea roaring in the air. He went to the front of the cave to find the source of the sound. He is the discoverer of this cave. He named the cave "Hang Son Dung". For the next eighteen long years, the cave remained largely hidden from public view. The cave was rediscovered in 2009 by a group of British Cave Research Association explorers who introduced the cave to the outside world. Their campaign lasted from 10 to 14 April 2009.

For about four years, the public was not allowed to enter the cave. In August 2013, the country's first tourist group was allowed to enter the cave. The per capita cost of the service was about three thousand dollars. From then on, the government allowed tourists to enter from February to August every year.

After August, the mountain rivers swelled due to heavy rains. As a result, it became impossible to enter the cave. So entry to the cave is not allowed after August. However, the government allows very few people to enter the cave every year.

In 2015, only 500 people were allowed to enter the cave. So you can't turn around from "Hang Son Dung" even if you want to. You must first apply to the Vietnamese government to enter the cave. Then with the help of luck you can get permission to enter here.
