Sleeping Paralysis-What to do?

Suddenly at the middle of the night you woke up. You felt something heavy sitting on your chest. Something so heavy that you can't even breathe properly. When you feel it, you can't move any part of your body even if you want to, you can't even scream. It usually occurs just before a person falls asleep or wakes up. Sleep paralysis is simply finding yourself as a helpless.

According to experts and scientists, deafness or sleep paralysis is just a matter of the senses. This is when the body moves from one stage of deep sleep to another. When you get caught by sleep paralysis or feel like a dumb person, you have different feelings. It vary to different persons. Someone feels the presence of something haunting inside the house, someone smells bad, someone sees something terrifying etc.Sleep Paralysis-What to do?-Causes,Symptoms,Prevention.

Actually, at this time a situation arises like hallucination. While moving from one stage of deep sleep to another, the brain becomes alert and wakes up, but the body is still asleep. As a result, the feeling is different. People see strange things and feel short of breath, especially when the senses are occupied. Usually those who have trouble sleeping suffer from more sleeping paralysis. Actually, it is just a physiological matter. Nothing else.

Why sleep paralysis happens?

There was a time when it was believed that this was the devil's machination. But a Muslim medical scientist, Abu Bakr Rabi ibn Ahmed Akhwani Bukhari (d. 963 AD), in his unique medical science book, Hidaya al-Mut'allamin Phil Tibb (Learner's guide to medicine) [1], claims that jinn ghosts have no hand in sleep paralysis. The whole matter can be reconciled by scientific explanation. This problem is caused by insomnia and irregular sleep, he said.

The way we know it now is that there are two basic things that happen during sleep:

  • Our subconscious mind moves forward and the conscious mind moves temporarily deeper.
  • The limbs become numb, the skeletal striated muscles relax. Because in dreams we often run and jump. If the skeletal striated muscles are active during sleep, then we can harm the person next to us by fighting in the dream. We can even harm ourselves. For this protection, the brain relaxes the muscles of our limbs.

So, when we go to sleep or when we suddenly wake up, the brain wakes up but the hands, feet or other limbs cannot wake up so fast. As a result, we want to move our hands and feet, but the hands and feet do not move! We think this is the end! We want to shout but no sound comes out of our throat. Many people sweat in fear, it seems that something is sitting on their chest.Even if we see a supernatural body, many people hear voices. The dream-like feeling seems very much alive here. Fearing a lot. We stop sleeping. But with some action we can prevent it.

Daniel Dennis of the University of Sheffield in the United Kingdom, in a study of 862 siblings, concluded that there was hereditary or genetic predisposition to deafness or sleep paralysis. A 2011 study conducted at Pennsylvania State University found that 7.6 percent of the world's population suffers from this condition. About 32% of patients with depression or anxiety have deafness.

Mental instability is also a cause of ‘dumbness’. Other common causes of deafness include sleep deprivation, sleep disturbances, upside down sleep, drug addiction, bipolar disorder or similar mental problems, narcolepsy or sleepiness, sleep deprivation and other sleep disorders.

What happens when you get dumb?

According to Brian Sharp, a professor and clinical psychologist at the University of Pennsylvania, there are three types of hallucinations that can occur in the case of sleep paralysis. The first is to detect the presence of intrude or something supernatural inside the house. The second is incubus. You may feel that some visible or slightly invisible being is sitting on your chest. The painting titled 'The Nightmare' by Henry Fusel is based on the idea of sitting on the chest. Last, levitation. You may feel as if someone has picked you up while you are asleep and taking you to an unknown destination.

You will feel a general situation within these three conditions, and that is, you can't say, you can't move. Even if you want to shout, the sound will not come out. Can't throw arms and legs. This paralysis phase will last a maximum of a few seconds. For the hallucinations caused by this paralyzed state, various gossips have been created involving ghosts.

Ghosts are an integral part of almost all folklore. At night, the unseen come in various guises and frighten people, this is the common practice. This feeling of fear is accompanied by dumbness or sleep paralysis. And before knowing the scientific explanation, miracles were sought behind all the abnormalities. This is why many people think that being caught by dumb is the presence of devil or ghost.

How to get rid of sleep paralysis or dumb ghosts?

No method of permanent relief from sleep paralysis has been discovered yet. You have to be a victim of it at least once in your life. Here are some tips for those who are suffering from this so much. If the following tips are followed, inshaAllah you will get rid of such problems.

  • This problem is exacerbated when you sleep on your back or chest. Try sleeping on the side back. However, it is better not to sleep on the left side, sleeping on the left side puts pressure on the heart.
  • Change the pattern of sleep. Try to get at least 7 to 8 hours of sleep every night. It is better not to sleep in the afternoon. Instead stretched sleep is much more beneficial for the body.
  • Avoid soft beds. Try sleeping in a slightly stiffer bed (such as an orthopedic mattress). A very soft bed creates many obstacles to blood circulation during sleep. When a nerve is injured somewhere in the body, there is a problem in the transport of oxygen to the brain and as a result the brain wakes up.
  • Before going to sleep, you must turn off the phone, computer, laptop or similar electronic device or turn it completely silent. Even a small beep in the middle of sleep awakens the brain unnecessarily. This can lead to this problem.
  • Before you go to bed, get rid of all sorts of calculations, litigation, complexities, complex mathematical calculations, programming problems, worries, plans for tomorrow, the rest of the TV series or the book by a favorite author, anger or revenge towards someone. Go to sleep with a very cold and stable brain. Explain to yourself before you go to sleep, you are the happiest person.
  • Deep sleep is required. So try "Sound Sleep" naturally. Bananas have a lot of sedatives, eating bananas or mangoes makes you fall asleep faster. Make sure the fan is free of catchy noises.

  • You now know the cause of sleep paralysis, so do not be unduly afraid. This is a very temporary matter. Sleep paralysis affects everyone. Sleep paralysis does not cause much damage to the body, it is caused by fear or panic. If it is not calm at this time, there is a possibility of permanent paralysis due to panic.
  • First try to move your small single muscles. Such as toes or thumbs. If you can move a small limb, it will become normal immediately.
  • The strongest muscle in the human body is the tongue. So being able to move the tongue is the easiest and most reasonable. If you can move the tongue, the rest of the limbs will wake up automatically.
  • Don’t go to sleep right away after getting rid of sleep paralysis, take a little time. Drink water, do light exercise. Can read complex and incomprehensible books. Then sleep.

The most important and easiest way to avoid falling asleep or paralysis is to adhere to a specific sleep pattern. Experts say the problem is temporary. But if it continues to occur frequently and gives rise to any physical or mental problems, then the advice of a doctor must be sought.
