Google at a Glance (2006-2019)

2006- is considered to be the fastest growing year for Google. In early 2005, YouTube gained exclusive popularity as a video website. Coincidentally, Google launched Google Video in 2006 as a competitor to YouTube. Both were popular at the time. But YouTube's rapid growth was impossible for Google to ignore. So in 2006, Google bought YouTube for 1.5 billion.

2007- Google acquired DoubleClick, an online advertising company. Google Street View is launched in five cities in the United States. In 2007, Fortune Magazine recognized it as the number one company in the United States in terms of operations.Google-Story, Beginning, History(2)

2008- Google launches the Chrome browser. It was initially only launched for Microsoft. It was later launched for Linux, Mac OS, iOS and Android. It was later updated to 43 translated languages. This same year Google announced their partnership with Yahoo.

2009- In November, Forbes Magazine featured Sergey Brin and Larry Page as the fifth most powerful people in the world. The idea for Google Wave came this year.

2010- Google unveiled the first smartphone of its own brand, the Nexus One. Until 2010, Google owned an average of one company per week. On May 21, 2010, PAC-MAN was created as a doodle or games doodle, like Google's first game. This was done to mark the thirtieth anniversary of the ‘Arcade Game’.

2011- Larry Page takes over as the new CEO this year. And, Eric Schmidt took over as executive chairman. 

2012-2013- At this time Google launched a service called Chromecast. This allows people to stream various content on their mobile or computer to the television. 

Interesting fact: Google's first tweet in binary code was "I'm felling lucky."                            

2014-2015- Google incorporates itself into an organization called Alphabet. Larry Page was the CEO of Alphabet. The new parent company was an influencer of Google's various commercial activities. Such as Nest, Google X, Fiber and Google Vantures.

2016- Google enters the era of home assistance this year through the Google Home Service Device. The same year Google launched a mobile. This is called a mobile phone made entirely with Google products.

2017- After several years of working together on hardware products, Google bought HTC for 1.1 billion this year. This is the first Alphabet in twenty years to earn 100 billion.

2018- This year marks the 20th anniversary of Google. This year, Google reports that their parent company, Alphabet, has made 100 billion for the first time in twenty years.

In the same year, Alphabet took over the responsibility of commercializing the largest Internet company, Amazon.

2019- Alphabet Inc. Sundar Pichai took over as its new CEO. Google includes seven new Indian languages. These are Tamil, Bengali, Telugu, Marathi, Kannada, Malay, Ore, Punjabi and Urdu. Google launched Interpreter mode this year. Which will be included in all subsequent features of Google.
